Ester E. Hernández is a professor of Chicana/o and Latina/o studies at California State University, Los Angeles. She has published in Journal of American Ethnic History and Economy and Society. She is the recipient of a Rockefeller Foundation Humanities Fellowship, and she has served on the executive board of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (2010 to present) and Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (2011 to 2013).
