Guidelines for Submitting your Manuscript and What to Expect in the Review Process

Submission Guidelines

When submitting your manuscript for initial review, we require that you submit a complete non-returnable hardcopy version of your manuscript that is single-sided, double-spaced, and loose-leaf (i.e., not bound in any way). Your submission should also include a current CV for all authors or editors and a completed Author and Manuscript Inquiry Form (MS Word version here).

Review Process

Your manuscript will receive an initial review by a UA Press acquiring editor. If that editor finds it a suitable match for the publishing program of the press, the editor will send the manuscript out to outside readers for peer review, a process that takes approximately eight to twelve weeks. We will contact you as soon as we have the readers' reports in hand.
