Guidelines for Submitting your Manuscript and What to Expect in the Review Process
When submitting your manuscript for initial review, we require that you submit a CD containing a complete electronic copy of your manuscript as well as two complete, non-returnable hardcopy versions of your manuscript (double-spaced, not bound in any way, and either single- or double-sided). Your submission should also include a current CV for all authors or editors and a completed Author and Manuscript Inquiry Form (MS Word version here).
Your manuscript will receive an initial review by a UA Press acquiring editor. If that editor finds it a suitable match for the publishing program of the press, the editor will send the manuscript out to outside readers for peer review. In some circumstances your manuscript may be sent out electronically to reviewers. If you have any strong objections to this, please notify us when you submit your manuscript. The review process takes approximately eight to twelve weeks. We will contact you as soon as we have the readers' reports in hand.
